Hitachi Vantara, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., has announced the introduction of its new data management software solution―Virtual Storage Platform 360 (VSP 360). Built to unify and simplify data operations across hybrid data environments, VSP 360 merges block, file, object, and software-defined data storage into a single platform that is straightforward and creates an intuitive experience.
“VSP 360 is more than just a management platform—it’s a strategic shift toward intelligent, unified data infrastructure,” said Octavian Tanase, Chief Product Officer at Hitachi Vantara. “By removing traditional silos and enabling control via SaaS, private deployments, or even mobile, we're equipping businesses to make faster, smarter decisions.”
As data continues to grow exponentially in volume― and partly because of the rise of artificial intelligence― many organizations are experiencing the inadequacy of their existing infrastructure, and a recent survey indicates that enterprise data is set to grow by 122%, or more, by 2026, while many IT leaders are implementing AI without their systems being ready to absorb. VSP 360 endeavors to assist with overcoming these challenges by streamlining data operations, increasing observability of the entire data environment, and improving governance over data lifecycle.
Capabilities of VSP 360
The functionality of VSP 360 is built on three fundamental pillars:
- Control has to do with hybrid cloud orchestration to manage multiple types of data storage, such as block, file, object, and software-defined data storage with one interface with which to operate.
- Observe provides predictive insight and full-stack observability by way of AIOps analytics that is available on-premises and as a SaaS service or via a mobile device. This allows for real-time visibility into performance, capacity, and security.
- Govern coordinates enhanced compliance across hybrid environments, unifying data lifecycle policies and advancing use cases for things such as AI workloads, cybersecurity, and PII classification.
According to Hitachi Vantara, VSP 360 is designed to reduce operational overhead and accommodate a range of business sizes and industries. The platform also supports deployment of Hitachi’s VSP One data services and leverages recently announced guarantees for performance, sustainability, and 100% data availability.
Industry experts are optimistic about the solution’s potential. “VSP 360 delivers true intelligence across the storage lifecycle,” said Ashish Nadkarni, Group Vice President and General Manager at IDC. “Its combination of automation, analytics, and resilience gives enterprises the agility needed in today’s data-intensive environment.”
Dan Pittet, Senior Solutions Architect at Stoneworks Technologies, added: “This platform brings the unified visibility and control our clients have been asking for. It’s especially useful for resource-constrained teams managing increasingly complex hybrid infrastructures.”
With seamless integration for compliance, AI, and cybersecurity requirements, VSP 360 positions itself as a comprehensive solution for modern data management, tailored for an era defined by exponential data growth and increasing digital complexity.
