Esri India has unveiled an innovative GIS-based Webapp, Kumbh Locator, designed to help pilgrims navigate the sprawling Maha Kumbh Mela with ease. Available in both Hindi and English, the app offers real-time information on accommodations, snan ghats, parking areas, live traffic updates, weather conditions, entry and exit points, lost-and-found centers, e-rickshaw stands, police stations, fire stations, hospitals, and more.
The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, hosted in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, from January 13 to February 26, spans over 4,000 hectares along the riverbanks. The grand event is expected to draw more than 400 million visitors worldwide. On its opening day alone, over 16.5 million devotees gathered at the Sangam to take a holy dip on the occasion of Paush Purnima.
