Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, Hon’ble Minister of State for Education, Government of India, inaugurated IInvenTiv 2025, India’s largest R&D fair, at IIT Madras today. The event, showcasing cutting-edge innovations from India’s top research institutions, marks a significant step toward ‘Viksit Bharat@2047, the country’s vision for technological self-reliance and global leadership.

Organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, IInvenTiv 2025 brings together leading academic institutions, start-ups, and industry leaders to facilitate technology transfers, commercialization, and industry-academia partnerships. The two-day event (February 28 – March 1) features over 180 research exhibits from 39 premier institutions, spanning AI/ML, space and defense, healthcare engineering, smart cities, and sustainable energy solutions.

In a virtual address, Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized India’s growing stature as the world’s third-largest start-up ecosystem, valued at over USD 354 billion, and called for stronger global research ties. Dr. Majumdar, quoting Tamil philosopher Kaniyan Poonkunranaar, underscored the collective effort needed to drive technological progress, likening it to pulling the grand temple chariots of Thiruvaarur and Puri Jagannath.

Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, highlighted that IInvenTiv 2025 provides a unique platform where industry leaders can explore R&D-driven innovations, investors can fund high-impact projects, and academia can drive real-world applications.

With the release of key publications and the signing of multiple MoUs, IInvenTiv 2025 is set to accelerate India’s innovation ecosystem and pave the way for a future-ready, technology-driven economy.
