The launch spans across Dell Pro, Pro Plus, Pro Premium notebooks, and the high-performance Dell Pro Max and Pro Max Plus workstations. These devices are infused with AI capabilities that span hardware, software, and services, bringing together Dell’s decades of engineering with the computing muscle of partners like Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm.

In an exclusive interaction with Dataquest, Indrajit Belgundi, Senior Director and General Manager – Client Solutions Group, Dell Technologies India, spoke about the company’s strategic approach and vision for the Indian market:

“We are excited to offer a simplified product portfolio combined with the broadest silicon offerings in the industry. By 2028, nearly 98% of PCs are expected to be AI PCs. It’s not just about labeling them as AI PCs, what’s more important is how users across different workloads will benefit from the AI capabilities in these devices.

We’re addressing these needs with a diverse range of offerings that cater to consumers, commercial users, and various industry verticals. With this comprehensive solution portfolio, we are confident about sustaining our growth journey, not only in India but across global markets as well.”

He added, “This new portfolio is the result of strong collaborations with Intel, Qualcomm, and AMD, which ensures that our devices meet a wide spectrum of performance and AI workload requirements.”

AI PCs: From Buzzword to Baseline

AI PCs, systems built with dedicated Neural Processing Units (NPUs) to handle AI tasks locally, are rapidly becoming the new baseline. Unlike traditional machines that rely heavily on cloud-based inferencing, AI PCs can process workloads such as real-time transcription, background blur, predictive typing, and contextual automation right on the device, improving speed, privacy, and battery efficiency.

Dell’s new lineup leverages this architecture to enable smarter user experiences out of the box. Some of the key innovations include real-time system optimization via Dell Optimizer, AI-enhanced video conferencing, and AI-assisted security frameworks. These enhancements not only improve productivity but also secure sensitive data across hybrid work environments.

At the core of Dell’s new range is flexibility. Whether you are a knowledge worker, data scientist, creative professional, or developer, Dell promises a tailored experience through its modular and scalable configurations.

  •  Broadest Silicon Choice: The new portfolio includes options powered by Intel Core Ultra 200U series, Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite, and AMD Ryzen AI processors, offering customers the broadest silicon choice to suit workload needs.
  • Enhanced Security and Manageability: Dell claims to offer the most secure and manageable commercial PCs, supported by its Dell Manageability Suite and partnerships with leading vendors like CrowdStrike. Security features span below-the-OS protections and out-of-band management, validated by Principled Technologies.
  • Modular Updates and Sustainability: With the introduction of the ‘Dell Client Device Manager’ app, slated for release in January 2025, enterprises will gain enhanced capabilities for modular updates and security deployments. Meanwhile, Dell’s entry-level battery uses 80% less cobalt, while the upsell battery incorporates 50% recycled cobalt, reflecting the brand's commitment to sustainability.
  • Display Innovations: Some models include TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort-certified panels and high-contrast non-touch displays (1500:1), offering enhanced visual comfort and clarity for professionals.

Looking Ahead

The race to dominate the AI PC market is heating up, with players like Asus, HP, and Lenovo also unveiling AI-optimized devices. But Dell’s approach, rooted in modular design, platform openness, and service integration, sets it apart as a platform provider rather than just a hardware vendor.

With the first wave of AI PCs hitting markets in early 2025 and the ‘Dell Client Device Manager’ going live shortly after, Dell is laying the groundwork for a future where AI is not just an enhancement but a default expectation.

As businesses and consumers navigate this shift, Dell’s AI PC strategy offers a compelling proposition: devices that are intelligent by design, secure by architecture, and scalable by intent.
