Cognizant has announced the launch of its Next-Gen Cyber Defence Centre (CDC) in Bengaluru, marking a major expansion of its global cybersecurity operations. The new centre is the company’s largest CDC to date and will play a central role in delivering AI-powered, platform-driven cybersecurity services to enterprises across regions and industries.
The Bengaluru facility becomes a key node in Cognizant’s worldwide network of Cyber Defence Centres, as organisations face rising cyber risks driven by cloud adoption, remote work, and AI-enabled attacks.
A hub for AI-led cyber operations
According to Cognizant, the new Cyber Defence Centre is designed to provide advanced managed security services, cybersecurity engineering, and transformation support. Teams at the centre will offer 24/7 monitoring and rapid incident response, helping clients detect and respond to threats in real time.
The facility also includes an integrated threat research lab. This lab will work alongside Cognizant’s strategic technology partners to study emerging attack patterns and improve defensive techniques. The goal is to move beyond reactive security models and support more predictive and preventive approaches.
“Cybersecurity is entering a new era where hyper-connected enterprises and AI-driven threats outpace traditional Defences,” said Ravi Kumar S, Chief Executive Officer at Cognizant. “Our new Cyber Defence Centre in Bengaluru reflects our commitment to delivering intelligence-led cybersecurity engineering and operation services that help enable clients to predict, prevent, and mitigate advanced cybersecurity threats.”
Platform centric security architecture
The Bengaluru CDC is built on a multi-layered technology architecture that combines Cognizant’s internal innovations with partner platforms. A key component is Cognizant Neuro Cybersecurity, the company’s proprietary AI-based framework, which is used alongside tools from established technology providers.
This platform-centric approach is aimed at improving visibility across enterprise systems, speeding up threat detection, and automating response actions. Cognizant says this model is intended to support large, complex enterprise environments that operate across multiple clouds and geographies.
Talent development and academic partnerships
To support long-term growth, Cognizant has tied up with leading academic institutions to build a steady pipeline of cybersecurity talent. The Bengaluru center will also act as a training ground for next-generation security professionals, combining hands-on operational exposure with structured learning programs.
This focus on skills development reflects broader industry concerns around the shortage of experienced cybersecurity professionals, especially as attack techniques grow more sophisticated.
Strengthening global cyber resilience
Through its expanding network of Cyber Defence Centres, Cognizant aims to offer end-to-end enterprise cybersecurity services. These include risk assessment, security operations, engineering, and transformation initiatives that align with business goals.
The company said the Bengaluru CDC will help clients strengthen risk resilience while continuing to innovate in cyber defence strategies. With India already serving as a major base for global technology operations, the new center reinforces Bengaluru’s role as a critical hub for advanced cybersecurity work.
Cognizant engineers modern businesses by helping clients modernize technology, reimagine processes, and transform digital experiences. The launch of the Bengaluru Cyber Defence Centre highlights the company’s continued investment in security capabilities as cyber threats become a boardroom-level concern worldwide.
