Amazon Web Services (AWS) has rolled out CloudFront SaaS Manager, a powerful new feature for Amazon CloudFront aimed at simplifying content delivery across multiple domains, particularly for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers, web development platforms, and businesses managing multiple brands or websites.

The new tool addresses a longstanding challenge for SaaS businesses: scaling operations across many customer-facing websites while maintaining consistent performance, security, and configuration. With CloudFront SaaS Manager, AWS promises a centralised and scalable approach to managing TLS certificates, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) protection, and observability, all within a unified framework.

“CloudFront SaaS Manager addresses a critical challenge these organisations face: managing tenant websites at scale, each requiring TLS certificates, DDoS protection, and performance monitoring,” said Veliswa Boya, Senior Developer Advocate at AWS, in a blog post announcing the launch.

One of the standout features of the service is reusable configuration templates, which let organisations apply and maintain consistent settings across their websites. This reduces manual work, minimises the risk of configuration errors, and accelerates deployment times. According to AWS, the feature also delivers optimised CDN performance and security defaults, built on AWS best practices.

Another key enhancement is its deep integration with AWS Certificate Manager (ACM), enabling automatic request, issuance, and binding of TLS certificates to CloudFront distributions. This automation is especially critical for fast-growing businesses managing a high volume of domains and seeking to reduce the complexity of certificate lifecycle management and cross-account synchronisation.

CloudFront SaaS Manager also introduces a template-based multi-tenant distribution model, designed for cases where a single CloudFront distribution serves multiple tenants, that is, different customers or organisations, while sharing the underlying configuration and infrastructure.

“If supporting single websites or applications, a standard distribution would be better or recommended,” Boya added, clarifying the use case distinctions.

As SaaS models continue to proliferate and digital platforms scale globally, CloudFront SaaS Manager positions itself as a strategic solution for multi-domain delivery, operational efficiency, and secure web performance.

This latest announcement from AWS highlights the company’s ongoing push to evolve its edge and CDN services to meet the complex, dynamic needs of modern digital businesses.
