Ashwini Vaishnaw was recognized for his push to self-reliance in hard-to-compete industries like mobiles, scaling and accelerating India’s semiconductor rise, pushing future-ready regulations like Digital India Act and Digital Personal Data Protection Act along with India’s efforts in taking global AI leadership.
Recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the Co-Chair of the AI Action Summit in Paris. India will host the next summit. Earlier Vaishnaw had announced that India would launch its own LLM model within 10 months. The India AI Compute Facility has procured more than 18,000 GPUs for that. Vaishnaw chaired the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence featuring 2000 delegates from 50 countries. He featured in Time100 AI 2024.
In other achievements, the number of people trained under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (PMGDISHA) crossed its initial target of 6 crore. India has also launched three PARAM Rudra supercomputers for research & innovation.
Vaishnaw is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (where he did his MBA). An ex-IAS officer he became a Rajya Sabha MP in 2019. He has been a key member in the Modi Cabinet since 2021.

Started in 1993 as India’s first annual IT awards show, the 32nd edition ceremony will take place on March 7 in New Delhi with an all-day conference on: India and the AI Revolution. The Who’s Who of the ICT industry is expected to attend the awards ceremony.
The Jury Chair was Raman Roy, CMD, Quatrro BPO Solutions. Dr. B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman Cyient was Jury Co-chair.
