The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has unveiled the fourth phase of the National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT 4.0). The initiative is aimed at revolutionizing digital learning in India. It was launched on January 2, 2025, NEAT 4.0 builds on the success of its previous phases, showcasing a robust collaboration between the public and private sectors to integrate cutting-edge educational technologies into India's academic ecosystem.

NEAT’s Evolution

NEAT, launched by the Ministry of Education in 2019, operates under a public-private partnership model. Its primary objective is to connect students with innovative EdTech solutions tailored to meet the demands of the modern job market. Over the years, NEAT has evolved into a critical platform for facilitating digital learning.

The third phase, NEAT 3.0, launched in January 2022, distributed over ₹253 crore worth of free course coupons to more than 12 lakh disadvantaged students. With NEAT 4.0, the initiative aims to reach new heights, further expanding its impact and scope.

Highlights of NEAT 4.0

AICTE has partnered with 22 leading EdTech firms to introduce 40 new tools to the NEAT portal. These tools, selected from a pool of over 300 rigorously evaluated products, focus on enhancing students' learning experiences using advanced AI technologies.

NEAT 4.0 leverages AI-powered tools to provide personalized learning experiences, catering to individual student needs. Features like adaptive content, skill assessments, and real-time feedback ensure improved learning outcomes. AICTE Chairman T.G. Sitharam emphasized that AI’s integration into education enables students to achieve their potential through customized and dynamic learning pathways.

The initiative broadens its scope by incorporating tools focused on emerging industries such as:

  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Health and Wellness
  • Space Technology

It introduces an agile onboarding process, allowing new tools to be evaluated and added every two to three months. This ensures the platform remains updated with the latest innovations in EdTech.

Aligned with its commitment to inclusivity, NEAT 4.0 continues to provide free and subsidized access to premium learning tools for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. This is achieved through collaborations with private companies, ensuring high-quality learning opportunities for all.
