Netflix India plans have been revised and made much more affordable to cater to the needs of audience in the country

Netflix India plans, in what seems to be a bid to capture India audience and compete with other over-the-top (OTT) platforms like Amazon India and Disney Plus Hotstar, have been reduced and made much more affordable than what they used to be earlier. Viewers will now be able to access the platform at Rs 149 per month on mobile phones and tablets, and at Rs 199 per month on any device including televisions. 

“It’s happening. Everybody stay calm. In case you missed it, you can now watch Netflix on any device at Rs 199, and on mobile at Rs 149 with the New Happy Prices,” tweeted the official account of Netflix India. The earlier mobile plan of the platform use to cost Rs 199 per month.

Viewers can now subscribe to the platform by choosing from the following options:

The website clearly mentions that only people living with the subscriber will be able to use the platform on a shared basis. Furthermore, viewers will only be able to watch on 4 devices at the same time with the premium plan, and on two devices at the same time with the standard plan. With the basic and mobile plans, viewers will be able to watch Netflix on only one device at a time. 

Furthermore, the website mentions that HD (720p), Full HD (1080p), Ultra HD (4K) and HDR availability is subject to the consumer’s internet service and device capabilities. Also, not all content on the platform is available in all resolutions.
