NEET 2020 and JEE Mains, which are scheduled to be held in September 2020, will most likely be conducted as per schedule as the Supreme Court dismissed a petition seeking further postponement of examinations. The top court has asked for the examinations to be conducted while ensuring the safety of students with proper precautions. The National Testing Agency has assured parents and students that all precautions will be followed while conducting the examinations

Nevertheless, students today have been circulating pictures of students seemingly exiting from examination centres. While the authenticity of the pictures are yet to be ascertained, social distancing norms are not being followed by students while exiting the examination hall as per the images that are being shared on social media. Students say that although social distancing norms may be followed inside examination centres, the same may not be ensured while exiting the halls and while travelling to and from the venue of the examinations.

Nevertheless, after the Supreme Court ruled out further postponement of examinations, the National Testing Agency has requested students to sign an online undertaking saying they have to tested positive for COVID-19, and do not have any symptoms. “Considering the prevailing COVID-19 condition, the NTA has made all efforts for smooth conduct of the examination. The students, as well as their parents/guardians, are also requested to cooperate with NTA for successful conduct of the examination in safe and healthy environment by sincerely following the Instructions and Advisories,” says NTA.
