NASSCOM, GlobalLogic Join Hands to Host India Wide Hackathon

With an aim to provide talented coders with an ecosystem to test their ideas and innovative technology-led solutions, GlobalLogic hosted a national-level hackathon titled “GlobalLogic 30Hacks: Power of AI Hackathon” in association with NASSCOM. 30Hacks is an industry initiative by GlobalLogic to reinforce its commitment towards promoting a nation-wide platform for sharing ideas, knowledge and engineering know-how. The theme for this year, ‘Power of AI’, emphasized on Artificial Intelligence (AI) led business transformation and new-age technology solutions. The event was organized at the NASSCOM office in New Delhi from 10 to 11 May, 2019.

The Hack brought together 27 teams from varied companies and start-ups across India. The winning team was judged by an eminent jury including leaders from top tech companies like Tech M, Altran, Fidelity and Incedo. The winner of the 30 hours long hackathon was the team Homo SAPiens from SAP Labs India which also bagged a gift prize of Rs. 1,50,000 as the winning amount. The team designed an AI powered technology solution “Park it Now” offering an early detection of Parkinsons, which would help the doctors and researchers find solutions to the problem of tremors. The other finalists of the hack included, team KAZA Cam from Dynapt Solutions, Iris AI-1 from Iris Software Private Limited. The out of the Box idea was won jointly by Team Artifutech from GlobalLogic and Fidelity International. The event concluded with an ending note from Aman Singh, Advisor to Plaksha University and Founding Project Director of Ashoka University.

Commenting on the hackathon, Mr. Srikanth Srinivasan, Head Membership, NASSCOM said, “We welcome such initiatives and delivery models which lead to developing and fostering the skills for the future and creating new transformational capabilities. With AI leading the technology wheel across sectors, up-skilling and creation of new AI based solutions will help build a more efficient tech ecosystem, impacting the industry and businesses positively. Propelling the tech gambit, programs like Hack 30 encourage and enable the young to utilize their skills and excel in an emerging yet competitive environment.”
