	Revenues rise but net profit falls by 53% DRI case filed, but company says this will not affect normal operations

Despite a revenue growth of 14%, this Bangalore-based company saw profits fall

53%. It attributed this to the hiving off of some inventory at salvage rates and the absorption of R&D costs into the P&l

accounts. Though direct sales fell, agency operations grew 46% to Rs 33 crore. Fiscal

’04 hasn’t begun well for the company either–it got into trouble with the DRI over alleged evasion of customs duty. The CEO was briefly arrested in this connection.
