Notwithstanding the slowdown, MphasiS managed to create a recordin the seven
month period ending October 31, 2008, the company recorded highest ever EPS
growth. Incidentally, MphasisS changed the quarter and financial year to
November-October with effect from November 1, 2008, to align to the financial
year of HPconsequent to the merger of EDS with HP. MphasiS made steady progress
toward verticalizing its business. During H1 09 MphasiS saw revenue growth of
39.3% over the corresponding period in FY 08. Profit during this period grew by
87.1% to Rs 220.1 crore compared to Rs 117.6 crore during the corresponding
period previous fiscal. One of the key highlights was that billing rates
remained steady.
The company added forty-seven new clients including thirty-eight
relationships through EDS. The groups net headcount increased by 1,748 to take
the total manpower numbers to 28,795. The company was also on expansion mode. It
increased the seating capacity at its Chennai center with some enhancements to
capabilities, including inauguration of its Enterprise Labs.
MphasiS also announced top management changes with Gopinathan Padmanabhan
joining as president, applications business; PA Krishnan as president, ITO; and
Dinesh Venugopal as head, technology development and IP strategy. Jerry Rao,
chairman, EDS Asia Pacific advisory board and founder of MphasiS resigned to
pursue his personal interests.
