Revenue growth impacted by JP Morgan Chase freeze on projects

Overall utilization rate declined

Most analysts attributed the growth of MphasiS to its BPO subsidiary MsourcE and even credited the company for pioneering the model of integrating BPO business successfully with IT services. Though software services did not match the BPO growth, the company broadened its offerings through the acquisitions it made during the year. These included the Mumbai-based Onida Infotech Services, for Rs 3 crores in an all-cash deal, and the Bangalore-based Kshema Technologies for $21 million in a stock-and-cash deal. The Onida Infotech deal brought SAP competency to MphasiS, providing a fillip to its ERP implementation practice. The Kshema buy, for its part, strengthened its technology practice and its play in the embedded solutions and industrial automation space. As part of geographic expansion, the company set up a development center in Shanghai to address clients from Japan and other parts of Asia-Pacific.
