MphasiS, the Bangalore-based software services and BPO company, is ranked #19, largely because of a successful restructuring and an improved performance over the last couple of years. The company reported sales of Rs 207.99 crore and a net profit of Rs 67.79 crore, up 15% and 38% respectively over the previous year. MphasiS’ gross block was up 3% to Rs 63.07 crore. The company is ranked #21 in sales, #10 in profit, #21 in sales growth, #11 in profit growth and #25 in gross block. It provides software services and solutions in the areas of application management, legacy systems
transformation, enterprise application integration and high-end architecture, and IT consulting. The company’s focus is on the BFSI, retail, logistics, transportation and technology sectors. MphasiS provides IT-enabled services through its 73% BPO subsidiary MsourcE India in the areas of in and out-bound call centers, e-mail/chat, helpdesk and other operational services such as investigations, collections, new applications, reconciliation and settlements. During 2002-03, MphasiS performed well both in software services and the BPO segment, with the latter growing at an astounding rate.
