Union Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship has launched the ‘MoE-ACITE Investor Network’ in New Delhi. It is a significant measure towards fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the education sector. The initiative aims to create a supportive ecosystem for dynamic innovators, by bringing together students, faculty, investors, and the market on a common platform.

The launch event was witnessed by K. Sanjay Murthy, Secretary, Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Prof. T.G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE, Abhay Jere, Vice Chairman, AICTE, and Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, National Educational Technology Forum NBA NAAC.

Dharmendra Pradhan hailed the initiative while addressing the gathering as a groundbreaking beginning that aligns with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and PM Narendra Modi’s goal of making India a leader in startups and innovation. He emphasized on the importance of investing not only in ideas and businesses but also in the dreams of the nation to achieve the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.

The launch event saw the participation of over 50 investors and industry leaders from various sectors. The interactive session provided a platform for visionary ideas and valuable insights into the future of education, technology, and innovation.

In terms of ensuring the effective onboarding of investors, a 10-member steering committee has been established under the chairmanship of Dr. Abhay Jere. The committee will frame policies, develop a strategic flow for the network, and facilitate the onboarding of diverse investors. It will also create funding guidelines, and eligibility criteria for startups, and monitor the progress of funded projects.

The MoE-AICTE Investor Network is an initiative jointly established by AICTE and the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC). It seeks to empower educational institutions to become innovation hubs and foster an environment that is conducive to startup development.

This network aims to bridge the gap between investors and transformative educational initiatives, fostering collaboration for the advancement of education and technology.
