Ministry of Education Invites Applications for Commonwealth Scholarship, Selected Students to do Master’s Degree in UK

Ministry of Education is receiving online applications from students who wish to do their Master’s in the United Kingdom thorough Commonwealth Scholarship

Ministry of Education has invited online applications from Indian nationals for the 2021 Commonwealth Master’ Scholarship tenable in the United Kingdom. Selected students pursue one year Master’s Degree Courses that are set to begin from September or October 2021. The scholarships are being offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC), UK.

A total of twenty students will receive the scholarship from the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, and the applicant should have completed or should be expected to complete their Bachelor's degree by October 2021. All applicants must be permanent residents of India. Only students who won’t be able to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship will be considered.

Themes of Study of the Commonwealth Scholarship As Per Ministry of Education

Interested students who have received an offer from admission from a UK University for the September or October 2021 intake at the time of applying for the Commonwealth Master’ Scholarship will be considered. The Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship is offered under the following themes:

  • Science and technology for development.
  • Strengthening health systems and capacity.
  • Promoting global prosperity.
  • Strengthening global peace, security and governance.
  • Strengthening resilience and response to crises.
  • Access, inclusion and opportunity.

The scholarship does not, however, cover an MBA degree. Candidates who have received an offer to pursue their Master’s at a UK university should be able to upload the same at the time of online application.

How to Apply for Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship?

Interested students will have to apply on the official Ministry of Education portal before 21 February 2021, and the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission’s Online Application System (OAS) before 18 January 2021. Students are required to apply on both portals failing which their candidature will not be considered. Interested students are advised to go through the official notification for more information.
