Day 2 of Milestone Systems’ MIPS 2022 started with a keynote conversation featuring Ms. Malou Toft, VP of APAC, Milestone Systems, and Jos Beernink, VP of EMEA, Milestone Systems.
Milestone Systems is globally known for their industry-best video technology and are the no. 1 providers in APAC and EMEA. Ms. Malou Toft, talked about the company’s strategic vision and business operations in the region.
She said: “We are evolving into a global leader in data-driven technology and creating intelligent video solutions. Many customers have unique needs in their industries. We will continue to drive awareness and stimulate demand creation. Our platform allows co-innovation. We are glad to have the best channel partners and GSIs by our side who can build more solutions on top of that.
"Today, willingness to experiment with technology has only increased and digital innovation has become a routine. We have many significant projects throughout cities around the world, especially in transportation and shipment industries. In APAC and EMEA, we are very committed to our partners. We are invested in helping them every step of the way in sales processes, and deployment. We want to help partners get ahead from where they are currently. We have also co-created building management systems integration (BMS) using IoT technology.”
Importance of data
Talking about Milestone’s focus on industry-specific video solutions, Jos Beernink added: “Milestone is focusing on making the existing platform even better. We are going beyond security. An example is healthcare. We are prioritizing well-being of patients and healthcare staff. Another example is cities. Urban areas are currently growing, and will double in population by 2050. We have to explore opportunities for smarter, data-driven technology to help cities.
“Data is very important today. Tons of data is available in cities. It can be a shared asset for utilizing by the authorities. Authorities can invest in technologies and break down individual silos, and use data fusion to build the cities of tomorrow. In Dubai, we have several examples. Authorities can look into any video management system here. With Siemens, we had created an example of the smart city. There were 5,000+ access control systems connected to over 140 buildings. They were integrated to allow smart traffic flow into the expo. We have also secured the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.
"Airports are another area. We are super-strong in enabling the security ecosystem of airports in the region (Kuwait, Qatar, Jeddah, etc).We are operating 24/7 in over 40 airports."
