Continuous upgradation and investments kept Microtek's cash registers
ringing through 2004-05.The company introduced new models of offline and online
UPSes. Wider price range models also helped Microtek gain strength in the
market. The north Indian market was the strongest for the company contributing
40% of the revenues. The power product division grew stronger with unwavering
focus on R&D and on the online UPS segment. The latter is a high growth
division and got itself a new dedicated marketing team. Microtek increased the
maximum range for UPSes to 40KVA, from 10KVA. Plans for FY 2006 include
investments in UPS development and rolling out newer models. Though the private
sector constributes 85% of the revenues, government supply is on a steady rise.
Its 4,000 dealer network was consolidated through the year by removing
ineffective dealers and adding new ones.
