The Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD), which has been strongly advocating e-learning for students, is ensuring to educate viewers on the free courses being offered by the government. As of now, MHRD has tweeted about free online aerospace engineering courses that interested students can take during the lockdown.

The free online courses are available on the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) platform. The online courses are self-paced; therefore, students can take it anytime as per their convenience. “If you are an aerospace enthusiast, we found a perfect course for you on NPTEL India. Start learning now. Thank us later,” tweeted MHRD.

What Do the Free Online Aerospace Engineering Courses Comprise Of?

The online aerospace engineering courses have been curated by various Indian Institutes of Technology across India such as IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, and so on. Nearly 58 courses pertaining to aerospace engineering such as Introduction to Aerospace Engineering, Rocket Propulsion, Vibration and Structural Dynamics, Satellite Attitude Dynamics and Control, Advance Aircraft Maintenance, Design of fixed wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, Aircraft Performance, Stability and control with experiments in Flight, Space Technology, Composite Materials, etc.

Each course could take up to 12 weeks to cover and consists of self-explanatory lecture videos from IIT faculty. Apart from videos, students can also access and download the transcripts of the lessons to read and study when needed. Each subject is covered in detail, as every video lecture is around 50 minutes long.

Interested students need to only visit the NPTEL website, and select aerospace engineering to start taking the free courses. Those who wish to take the courses are advised to visit the official NPTEL website for more information.
