MHRD Internship Scheme 2019: Online Applications Begin, Selected Students to get Stipend of Rs 10,000

The online application process for the MHRD Internship Scheme 2019, which was announced by the Government of India last week, has begun. Ministry of Human Resource Development had announced the Internship Scheme for Indian nationals pursuing graduation or integrated PG studies in recognized universities and institutions within India or abroad.

Any Indian nationals or OCI card holders pursuing graduation or integrated PG studies in recognized universities or institutions within India or abroad can apply for the internships. The students must be pursuing their degrees in education, social sciences, science, humanities, management, engineering, ICT, or law.

The selected students would be required to be associated with the Ministry of HRD in the formulation of policies, implementation of projects and various initiatives in the education sector for mutual benefits. The interns in return may benefit by getting exposure to Government functioning and policy, gain knowledge on issues in human resource development in the Government of India and contribute to policy formulation by generating policy inputs such an empirical analysis, briefing, reports, policy papers, and so on.

Interested students pursuing a three or four-year programme must have at least completed two years (four semesters) of their course and those pursuing a five-year integrated programme should have completed three years (six semesters).

The online application process for the MHRD Internship Scheme 2019 has begun on the official website and will end on 11 November 2019. Interns will be engaged for a period of two months extendable up to 6 months, and selected interns will get a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month and a certificate upon completion.

Interns will be engaged for two cycles, one to be held in November-December and one in April-May, and a maximum 15 interns will be selected for each cycle. Candidates would need to register on the official MHRD website by giving details such as name, parent’s name, address and so on. An OTP would then be sent to the mobile number to verify the registration. Interested candidates are advised to go through the MHRD Internship Scheme 2019 notification in detail to determine their eligibility to apply for the programme.
