Meta Platforms, a Menlo Park, California-based social media company, is preparing to launch an exciting range of AI-powered chatbots, each with its personality. The corporation has been actively working on prototypes of chatbots that can participate in human-like discussions with consumers. This move is viewed as an attempt to increase user involvement across its social media channels.
What to expect from Meta Chatbots?
According to people familiar with the company's intentions, Meta hopes to launch these AI chatbots as early as September. The variety of personalities that the chatbots will assume is one of the most exciting features of this endeavour. For example, they investigate a chatbot built to speak like the legendary Abraham Lincoln, providing historical insights and wisdom into the President's particular style. Another chatbot takes on the image of a laid-back surfer, offering guidance on vacation possibilities in a relaxed and calm manner.
These AI chatbots will primarily serve two purposes. They will be integrated as a new search tool, possibly revolutionising how users access and find content inside Meta's platforms. Second, the chatbots will provide tailored suggestions, customising content to the tastes and interests of the users.
The advent of these chatbots comes at a critical moment for Meta, as the company works to increase retention rates for Threads, its recently released text-based service. The app suffered a major setback after losing over half its user base in the weeks after its 5 July debut.
Meta has been developing prototypes for chatbots
According to the reports, which cite people with knowledge of the plans, Meta has been developing prototypes for chatbots that can conduct human-like conversations with its users as the business strives to increase interaction with its social media platforms.
In July, Meta released Llama 2, a commercial version of its open-source artificial intelligence model, which will be delivered by Microsoft (MSFT.O) through its Azure cloud service and will operate on the Windows operating system.
Apple is working on AI services akin to OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Bard, and it has constructed its framework known as 'Ajax' to generate huge language models and testing a chatbot called 'Apple GPT' by sure developers.
