Post this announcement, users who are interested to get the Meta blue tick will have to pay a monthly amount and get their accounts verified. The subscription bundle will be available on both Instagram and Facebook.
Those who opt for this service will be given a verified badge that authenticates user’s account with government ID, proactive account protection, access to account support, and increased visibility and reach. For now, the service is initially being rolled out in New Zealand and Australia, and Meta verified will then be brought to the rest of the world.

Who Can Apply for the Meta Blue Tick Feature?
Although the feature is being rolled out for all users, there are certain norms that users will have to meet in order tp be eligible for the Meta blue tick feature:
- Prior posting history of users will be taken into account, and users will have to be at least 18 years old.
- Applicants are then required to submit a government ID that matches the profile name and photo of the Facebook or Instagram account they are applying for.
