Intrusion detection grew fastest in India amongst all Asia Pacific markets
and McAfee was one of the biggest gainers, as it pioneered the concept of
Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS). It launched IPS-based IntruShield 2.1. It
also launched Entercept 5.0, a host IPS solution protecting against zero-day
attacks. Managed security services, particularly through the ASP mode, was a key
growth driver. Significantly, it announced the setting up of an Anti Virus
Emergency Response Team in Bangalore, its third largest globally.
