Mahindra-British Telecom featured below #10 in the various employee
satisfaction parameters (barring the dream company parameter wherein it ranked
#9), taking it to #17 on the overall employee parameter. However, it came better
off on the HR front, aggregating a #8 position. Career development/growth
opportunity, along with salary, came across as the key areas of discontent among
the employees: in both these cases, 52.7% of the employees expressed these two
factors as the reasons for leaving. Another 38.7% of the employees admitted
overseas opportunity as their reason. On the positive side, 45.2% of the
employees expressed satisfaction over the company's culture and work climate.
But this was not good enough when compared to other companies in the Top 20 list
as it ranked a low #17 on the culture parameter. Some other areas of concern:
constructive feedback from manager/superior, work recognition, and a fair
appraisal system.
