Red's Stake in Danish Co

The West Bengal government has decided to pick up an undisclosed minority
stake in Denmark-based wireless technology research firm, Wireless Innovation
Platform Labs. The state government intends to invest close to Rs 15 crore in
the company, which is setting up a global delivery center in Kolkata.

Google Buys SW Biz

Google has acquired Swedish company Marratech's videoconferencing software
business to help its employees work together. The software will enable more than
12,000 employees at Google to communicate more effectively, said Google on its
corporate blog.

SRIT's Acquisition

Sobha Renaissance Information Technology (SRIT) has announced a definitive
agreement to acquire Objective Systems Integrators from Agilent Technologies.
The acquisition is expected to substantially expand SRIT's product portfolio
and addressable market.

MG May Buy US Firm

Mid-sized software services firm Mascon Global (MG) is close to making an
acquisition in the US at an estimated deal size of more than $30 mn. When it
completes the acquisition, it will have a strong presence in wealth management
and asset management practice.

Educomp Buys ThreeBrix

Delhi-based Educomp Solutions has acquired 76% stake in online tutoring
service provider ThreeBrix E-Services. "We have picked up the stake for Rs
2.5 crore. We aim to strengthen our tutoring portfolio by this
acquisition," said Shantanu Prakash, MD, Educomp.

Oracle Finishes Hyperion Buyout

Oracle has completed its $3.3 bn purchase of Hyperion Solutions. The company
purchased 91.3% of Hyperion's outstanding shares. Hyperion expands Oracle's
business-management software offerings, adding programs that help companies
analyze their financial performance.

SQL To Buy TalentFuse

SQL Star International has announced its intent to close the acquisition of
TalentFuse. This acquisition, according to a statement to BSE, will grow the
company's revenue base in FY 08 (year ending March 31, 2008) by $9 mn. The
company is also in pursuit of another acquisition.

Experian to Acquire Hitwise

Experian has said that it would acquire Hitwise for an approximate value of $240
mn. Experian expected to close the acquisition in May. Hitwise, which has over
200 employees, would be part of Experian's Marketing Solutions. Experian plans
to complete the acquisition with funding from its existing cash resources.

Pitney Acquires Mapinfo

Pitney Bowes has announced that it has completed the acquisition of MapInfo
for $20.25 net per share in cash. Magellan Acquisition, a wholly owned
subsidiary of Pitney Bowes merged with MapInfo.

BT to Acquire Comsat

BT has announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Comsat
International. The acquisition, through its parent company, CI Holding, will
bolster BT's global reach and reinforce its ability to help customers address
the challenges and opportunities of globalisation.
