Lexmark Acquires Perceptive
Lexmark International has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire
Perceptive Software in a cash transaction valued at approximately $280 mn. This
acquisition enables Lexmark to immediately participate in the adjacent, growing
market segment of ECM software solutions. It also provides additional revenue
streams in software maintenance and professional services that are not paper
usage dependent.
HCL Info Buys Dubai IT Firm
HCL Infosystems has announced the buyout of 60% stake in NTS Group, the IT
services and solutions company based in Dubai. Specific areas covered by NTS
include computer hardware, enterprise software solutions, infrastructure and
networking solutions, e-security solutions and web development services. With
the addition of NTS, HCL Infosystems will now expand its global footprint in the
Middle East and African market with direct operations to address the system
integration and services need in these regions.
RCom Acquires Digicable
Reliance Communications has approved a proposal to acquire Digicable,
Indias largest cable TV service provider in an all-stock deal of the new
entity. The new entity named Reliance DigiCom is an integration of RComs DTH,
IPTV and retail broadband operations with Digicable. This will be Asias largest
and the fifth largest company to offer full-suite of triple play
servicesDigital TV, ultra high-speed broadband and voice.
Rolta Acquires PCI Geomatics License
Rolta has entered into a definitive agreement with PCI Geomatics Enterprises of
Canada to acquire geo-imaging technology used in earth imaging, remote sensing
and related geopositioning solutions. It has acquired these licenses of PCIs
geo-imaging technologies, including source code, design and software
architecture exclusively for India and non-exclusively throughout the rest of
the world. Rolta will now be able to offer world-class solutions for processing
stereo and mono satellite imagery in areas such as environmental modeling,
forestry and natural resources, etc.

searches for pornographic terms, outranking every other country in the world in
searches per person for certain sex-related content. Pakistan is a top dog in
searches per-person for horse sex since 2004, donkey sex since 2007, rape
pictures between 2004 and 2009, rape sex since 2004, child sex between 2004
and 2007 and since 2009, animal sex since 2004 and dog sex since 2005,
according to Google Trends and Google Insights, said the Fox News report.
Suicide Note on Twitter
A twenty seven year old South Korean man committed suicide after posting a
suicide note on Twitter. Police found the body of Lee Kye-Hwa, who was working
as a disc jockey in a Seoul bar, hanging from a ferry dock on the Han river in
Seoul. His family reported him missing after he posted a message in Korean on
Twitter. "Im going to commit suicide. To all of you, even those who shared the
slightest friendship with me, I love you," he wrote.
Infosys to Shut Down Bangkok Back-office
Infosys will shut down its back office operations in Bangkok, that it acquired
as part of a $250 mn deal with Philips BPO in 2007. As part of the deal, Infosys
had acquired the Dutch majors three outsourcing offices located in Thailand,
Poland and India (Chennai). At that time, Infosys had gained 1,400 Philips
employees for its BPO team. The companys Bangkok center now employs around 175
people. As part of a rationalized international center strategy, its BPO
operations in the Bangkok center had been relocated to India and China.
