Avaya Closes Nortel Buy
Avaya, which recently acquired Nortel Enterprise Solutions (NES) has now
successfully completed the acquisition process. The addition of NES further
enhances Avayas strategic position in providing business communication
solutions and services for enterprise customers. The acquisition gives the
company added scale, resources, and expertise to deliver a portfolio of
solutions and services around the globe. Approximately 6,000 NES employees have
joined Avaya, including twenty-five top managers.
Infosys BPO Acquires McCamish
Infosys BPO has successfully completed the acquisition of McCamish Systems LLC.
The deal establishes Infosys BPO as a key player in business platform services
for the insurance and financial services sector. McCamish Systems provides
business process outsourcing solutions to the insurance and financial services
companies in the United States. It counts ten of the twenty top insurers among
its clients.
Twitter Buys Mixer Labs
Micro blogging sensation Twitter has bought Mixer Labs, creators of GeoAPI, a
comprehensive service for helping developers build geolocation-aware
applications. Evan Williams, CEO, Twitter, announced the acquisition in an
official blog post. The Mixer Labs crew has been working on harnessing the power
of local information for a couple of years, and recently launched GeoAPI.
Twitter will look at how to integrate the work Mixer Labs has done with the
Twitter API in useful ways that give developers behind geo-enabled apps like
Birdfeed, Seesmic Web, Foursquare, Gowalla, Twidroid, Twittelator Pro other
powerful new possibilities.
