In addition to cutting off thousands of staff, some IT companies have postponed onboarding new personnel due to difficult financial conditions. Following the footsteps of another IT software firm, LTIMindtree, has delayed hiring new employees. The candidates received the offer letter in January of last year.
These freshmen were given jobs in January 2022, more than a year ago by LTIMindtree
According to a Moneycontrol investigation, LTIMindtree submitted offer letters to 600 - 700 freshers, but they have yet to be hired. Instead, the corporation requires all these individuals to participate in a new training course to demonstrate their eligibility, according to the IT-employee union Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES). “NITES strongly condemns LTIMindtree for delaying the onboarding of freshers with new training program IGNITE. Freshers have no choice but to accept, risking their offer letter which was given in Jan 2022. Unacceptable treatment for those already waiting for over a year,” said the union.
According to reports, these freshmen were given jobs in January 2022, more than a year ago. These students were chosen from their campus in November 2021 and got offer letters in January 2022.
New hires must undergo this further training and screening to keep their jobs
The candidates now suspect that the so-called training programme is a ploy by the firm to get rid of them. If the candidate does not engage in the training program, the offer letters are stated to be automatically terminated. According to the article, all 600-700 new hires must undergo this further training and screening to keep their jobs.
According to the study, the programme would assess these freshmen based on a training course of 80 percent self-paced learning and 20 percent instructor-led instruction. Multiple choice questions (MCQ) are expected to get 40% of the weightage while coding assignments will receive 60%. The candidates will have two chances at each task and be declared eligible if they score 60% or above. It is also being emphasised that achieving the requisite percentage guarantees quick acceptance into the freshers programme
