Lenovo appoints Sudhin Mathur as Director-Smartphones

Lenovo India today announced the appointment of Sudhin Mathur as Director- Smartphones for India. Based out of Gurgaon, Sudhin will be responsible for steering the company's aggressive growth strategies for Smartphones in India. Sudhin has over twenty years of rich experience in Business Management and Consumer Marketing in varied industries viz. Telecom, Services and Office Products. His core expertise lies in driving P&L results via brand building, retail business management, sales and distribution, people and organization strategies.

One of Sudhin's significant contributions has been in setting up and launching the Sony Ericsson brand in India. During his tenure, the businesses grew consistently and the brand emerged as a leading player in the high end mobile devices and services space. Till recently, Sudhin was the Business Head for LG Mobile, India where he spearheaded the company's overall business operations for mobile phones in India. One of the core strategies was to reposition the LG mobile brand image and establish it as a leading player in Smart Phone segment. He restructured the distribution by bringing in regional partners who provided flexibility and created value for retail partners.

A mechanical engineer from Delhi College of Engineering, Sudhin has a Post Graduate degree in Business Management from India's premier B School, IMT Ghaziabad.
