L&T restructures infotech, engineering services businesses

L&T is following rebranding and restructuring policy across its verticals. L&T Integrated Engineering Services (IES) will be rebranded as L&T Technology Services which will offer customized engineering services and will include embedded systems deployed in product and plant electronics and custom firmware for the telecom equipment industry.

Industrials and services are 2 pillars around which L&T Infotech will be reshuffled .These industrials will help to address manufacturing plants, establishment including wholesale, retail sale of products and establishments dealing with energy and utilities. This group will house horizontals of SAP, enterprise integration, Oracle as well as manufacturing execution systems whereas the services will include banking, financial services, insurance and areas such as travel and logistics, media and entertainment and healthcare.

This group will house the testing, mobility, infrastructure management system and business intelligence/data warehouse divisions.

Under the umbrella of new strategy, the company has admitted 3 US based professionals-Keshab Panda, Mukesh Aghi and Vivek Chopra-on the L&T Infotech board.

Keshab Panda, chief executive of L&T Integrated Engineering Services, will hold the same rank in the renamed unit and will be on the board of L&T Infotech for maximizing synergies. Mukesh Aghi will be the chief executive of the services cluster and a whole-time director of L&T Infotech whereas Vivek Chopra will be chief executive of the industrials cluster and whole-time director of L&T Infotech.
