Juniper builds E-Commerce Data Center for FlipKart

Juniper Networks announced that Flipkart.com has built its next-generation data center running on the Juniper Networks Junos operating system.

The deployment of Juniper Networks EX Series Ethernet Switches and SRX Series Services Gateways enables Flipkart.com to scale better, and ensure secure and seamless access to its platform.

"As one of India's largest e-commerce platforms, the level of security threat facing Flipkart is significant. It is therefore essential to have a data center network infrastructure that enables us to scale not only performance but also security, in-line with business demands," Burzin Engineer, director of engineering, Flipkart.

According to the press release, Flipkart.com's business approach includes the introduction of the first sustainable Cash on Delivery option for the e-commerce space in India. The platform gets over 6 million page views per day and aims to be a US$1 billion business by 2015.
