Jio Fiber preview offers, which were being provided to consumers ever since the Jio GigaFiber services were announced last year, will expire today and existing users may have to subscribe to the new plans that were supposed to be announced today i.e. 5 September 2019.
However, the new plans have not yet been announced so far. “Last day for Jio fiber preview users to use jio for free but we still don't know official plans yet,” says a user on Twitter. “All Jio fiber users now find that their plans are expiring on 4th September. I hope Reliance Jio servers can take the load of so many customers trying to renew their subscription,” says another user.
To several anxious consumers who are questioning as to when the new plans will be announced, the official account of Jio Care has responded saying: “We understand you are concerned about this. Details regarding Jio Fiber will be updated soon on Jio.com and MyJio app. Hang in there!”
Nevertheless, according to Nagpal Manoj of Outlook Asia Capital, users who were enjoying the preview offer so far may need to subscribe to the new Jio plan henceforth. “All Jio fiber plans (which were earlier complimentary at the testing stage) will expire today. Once the new paid plans are announced for Jio Fiber, you will need to subscribe to a Jio Plan to re-activate your Internet by making the payment,” says a tweet from Nagpal Manoj.
Jio Fiber Plans: Free 4K TV sets and Set-top Box
Although nothing has been revealed about the new plans so far, few announcements were made at the 42 Annual General Meeting last month. Users will get free 4K television sets or home PC, and free Jio Set-top box along with the Jio Fiber Welcome Offer or Jio Forever Annual Plans. More details on the exact plans will be revealed shortly.
Users can opt for the monthly plans that would be priced between the range of Rs 700 and 10,000. Users may only be needed to pay the annual charges and the refundable security charges while the rest of the services will be offered for free.
