JEE Mains 2021 April exams, which were scheduled to be held 10 days from now, have been postponed by the Ministry of Education due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety and welfare of the students, which the Government of India says is its top priority at the moment. This decision has been confirmed by Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Union Minister of Education.

“Given the current COVID-19 situation, I have advised the National Testing Agency to postpone the JEE Main 2021 April Session. I would like to reiterate that safety of our students and their academic career are Ministry of Education's and my prime concerns right now. The dates JEE Main 2021 April Session will be announced later on and at least 15 days before the examination,” said Nishank on the JEE Mains 2021 April exams.
Two sessions of the JEE Mains 2021, which is being conducted in four sessions this year, have already been conducted from 23 to 26 February and 16 to 18 March 2021. Nearly 620978 and 556248 students took the examinations in February and March, respectively. NTA says in its notification that students may call 011 407590000 or email jeemain@nta.ac.in for any further queries with regard to the examination.
Students had been requesting the authorities to cancel or postpone the examinations due to the rising number of COVID-19 infections across the country. The demands for postponement intensified especially after the CBSE board exams 2021 were postponed for class 12 students and cancelled for class 10 students. NTA has advised students attempting the JEE Mains 2021 examinations using the NTA Abhyas App in the meanwhile.
