SCIKEY, marketplace network for Talent and Technology Solutions indicated that hiring activity in India indicates 30% decrease in Q2 2020 as compared to Q2 2019. The economy is showing signs of revival with companies hiring work from home employees. The quarter (Q2 2020) witnessed a 13% increase in the number of jobs allowing WFH as compared to Q2 2019. Furthermore, demand for contract workforce increased by 11 % in Q2 2020 from Q2 2019 and that of full time decreased by 13.8%.

IT and ITes sector indicating rebounds

SCIKEY’s latest data shows a sign of revival in the ITand IT Services sector in Q2 2020 as compared to Q2 2019. IT and ITes sector are huge employers and hiring is picking up in this quarter.

The coronavirus pandemic has given rise to a huge number of contract workers for a plug and play model allowing companies to reduce their hiring costs. SCIKEY data indicates that IT and IT services sectors have shown a rise in contractual workers and full-time workers in the IT and IT Services industry have contracted.
