itel Mobile emerges as the market leader in major Indian geographies: report

Marking yet another milestone in its impressive growth story, itel Mobile, the hi-tech innovative brand from Transsion Holdings Conglomerate, has been named as the market leader in eight major Indian geographies in a recently released Cyber Media Research report. The brand has emerged as the top favourite amongst consumers in the markets of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Jammu & Kashmir ahead of competition.

Speaking on the announcement, Sudhir Kumar, CEO, Itel Mobile India, said, “One of the major reasons behind itel’s grand success in the Indian market is the approach that we have adopted. Not only do we offer innovative, value-plus products to aspiring mobile phone owners, but also have a huge distribution base which allows us to deeply penetrate into the relatively untapped rural markets. Aggressive, out-of-the-box marketing strategies and unique service proposition of 100-day replacement warranty offered on itel Mobile products have driven great growth for the brand in a short span of 6 months. itel achieved yet another target by selling 1.6 million handsets in just October.”

With its value-driven offerings available at competitive price points, itel Mobile has witnessed immense growth and consumer adoption since its India launch earlier this year. Having sold more than 5.4 million handsets till date, the brand has secured the 6th position in the feature phone category and captured 2% market share in less than a quarter as per the Q3 2016 CMR report.
