ISRO recruitment 2020 for engineers is currently being conducted for various graduate and technician apprentice vacancies at Space Applications Centre (SAC), which is one of the lead centres of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Selected candidates will be engaged for a one year training period, and will be registered under the Apprentice Act, 1961. Those selected for the apprentice positions will be paid a stipend of Rs 8000 for technician apprentice vacancies and Rs 9000 for graduate apprentice vacancies.

Who can Apply for ISRO Recruitment 2020 for Engineers?

The official notification available on the SAC website says that for the graduate and technician apprentice vacancies, candidates who have a degree or diploma in engineering from a recognized university or board coming under the Western region of the board of apprenticeship training namely Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Diu and Daman (UTS) can apply.

For the graduate apprentice vacancies, candidates with a first-class BE or BTech in engineering with an aggregate minimum 65% marks or CGPA or CPI grading of 6.84 on a 10 scale declared by a recognized University, and for the technician apprentice vacancies, candidates with a first-class diploma in engineering from the following streams can apply:

  • Electronics and communication engineering
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Computer engineering, computer science or information technology
  • Electrical engineering
  • Civil engineering

Candidates who have passed their degree or diploma in engineering relevant field in or after November 2017 are only eligible to apply. After a period of one year, apprentices will not have any claim to employment in Space Applications Centre or any other units of Indian Space Research Organization, says the notification.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply online on the official SAC website until 23 November 2020 at 5 pm IST. The percentage of marks in qualifying exam declared by the recognized university, board or institute will be considered in order to shortlist candidates. Those who wish to know more about the apprentice vacancies are advised to go through the official notification in detail, and then apply on the website.
