ISRO recruitment 2019 is being conducted at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) for its Space Physics Laboratory (SPL). There are as many as 20 research positions for engineers and postgraduates, and online applications for the same have already begun. Selected candidates would be eligible for a salary of Rs 31,000 to 51,000, based on the post for which they are selected. Who can Apply for the ISRO Recruitment 2019 at VSSC?

As per the official notification issued on the VSSC website, there are 20 positions available at SPL. Out of the 20 positions, 10 are for Junior Research Fellows for which the qualification required is as follows: MSc in Physics, Applied Physics, Space Physics, Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, Space Science, Planetary Sciences, Astronomy, or Astrophysics OR MTech in Atmospheric Science, Space Science Planetary Science Applied Physics with minimum 60% marks as average of all semesters in aggregate or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent. The candidate is also required to have CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, JAM or JEST qualification.

Selected candidates would be eligible for a salary of Rs 31,000 per month with a possibility to be increased to Rs 35,000 as Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) after a period of two years. Candidates must not be over 28 years of age.

There are 10 more positions for the post of Research Associate, and candidates who have PhD degree in any discipline of science or technology can apply for the posts. Their PhD thesis should be in the areas of atmospheric, space, and planetary sciences which are relevant to the fields of research being carried out at SPL.

A research proposal (not exceeding 2000 words) on the work they intend to carry out at SPL in the domain of SPL’s research activity must be submitted along with the application, says the ISRO recruitment 2019 notification. The candidate should be 35 years of age as on 16 July 2019.

The selected candidates, based their qualification and experience, would be eligible for a salary of Rs 47,000, 49,000 or 51,000 per month. Candidates are also eligible for HRA as per rules.

Those who wish to apply for the JRF positions need to do so on the official VSSC website. The online application link will be available from 16 July 2019 to 30 July 2019 5 pm IST. Those who are eligible to apply for the Research Associate positions can send in their applications with the required documents to directorspl@vssc.gov.in.
