ISRO recruitment 2019 is a term that figures on the minds of students and professionals alike in India. Working at the Indian Space Research Organisation, one of its centres or autonomous bodies associated with ISRO and Department of Space (DOS) can give immense knowledge and exposure required to pursue a successful career in space science and technology. NESAC, an autonomous body under ISRO set-up by Department of Space (DOS) and the North Eastern Council (NEC), has issued a notification for a walk-in-interview to be conducted at its campus for the position of JRF. Selected candidates would be hires on a temporary basis and a salary of Rs 25,000 would be offered.

Who can Apply for the ISRO recruitment 2019 at NESAC?

As per the ISRO recruitment 2019 notification, there are a total of three JRF vacancies available at NESAC of which one position requires the following eligibility criteria: MSc in physics, atmospheric science, space science, physical science, or earth system science with NET/GATE or equivalent or N-JET in atmospheric science specialization, OR M.Tech in physics, atmospheric science, space science, physical science, or earth system science can apply for the job.

Another JRF position requires the following eligibility: MSc in environment science, ecology and environmental science, environment management, forestry, forest science, agriculture, botany, geography, applied geography, remote sensing and GIS, geo-informatics, with graduation in science with NET/GATE or equivalent, OR MSc in environment science, environment management, forestry, forest science, agriculture, botany, geography, applied geography, remote sensing and GIS, geo-informatics, with graduation in science with N-JET in RS and GIS specialization, OR MTech in remote sensing and GIS, geo-informatics, spatial information with graduation in science.

And lastly for one more position of JRF the eligibility criteria is as follows: MTech in remote sensing and GIS, geo-informatics, spatial information with graduation in science, and so on. Candidates cannot exceed 28 years of age as on 9 July 2019; however, there is an age relaxation for certain candidates as per Government of India rules.

The notification also clearly mentions that Junior Research Fellows will be engaged initially for one year or the period of the Project whichever is earlier and is extendable for further periods based on assessment of their work and requirement of project. The maximum period of engagement of Junior Research Fellow shall not exceed 5 years. The fellowship will not confer any claim or right for regular appointment in any of ISRO or DOS Centres.
