ISRO is offering a two-month offline course on Remote Sensing and Image Analysis for interested participants through IIRS

ISRO has invited applications from students and officials for a two-month offline course called Remote Sensing and Image Analysis, which will be conducted through the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun. The course aims at supporting capacity-building activities in the country so that the benefits of space technology reach society at large, says IIRS in the official notification. The objective of the course is to train and enhance the capacity of working professionals, researchers and students in the field of remote sensing.

Only twenty participants will be allowed, and the lodging and boarding facilities will be provided to all course participants at IIRS in its hostels on a single or double occupancy basis at nominal charges. Participants of the course will be equipped with a good working knowledge of the theory and practice of geospatial tools and technologies. While students can apply for the course, preference will be given to candidates nominated by the government organizations followed by other working professionals for the ISRO course.

Who Can Apply for the ISRO Offline Course on Remote Sensing?

The course is open to both Government-sponsored and Self-financed candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Candidates having Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
  • Government officials with Bachelor’s degree in any discipline are eligible to apply.

What the ISRO Offline Course on Remote Sensing Will Cover?

The ISRO course basically aims at enhancing the skills of the course participants in the utilization of space technology and geospatial sciences into their application domains through the following topics:

  • Basics of remote sensing and photogrammetry.
  • Digital image analysis.
  • Thematic lectures and project work.

How to Apply for the ISRO Offline Course on Remote Sensing?

Interested participants will have to apply for the course on the official website before 12 November 2021 at 5:30 PM IST. There is an applications fee of Rs 1000, and a course fee of Rs 20,000 that will have to be paid. The course will be conducted from 10 January to 4 March 2022.
