ISRO Invites Applications for Free Coures on Satellite Altimetry for River Monitoring, Here’s How to Register

ISRO has invited registrations from interested students and professionals for a one-day free course on Satellite Altimetry for River Monitoring which is scheduled to be held on 17 March 2021. The workshop will be conducted by Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun. The institute has delivered several free online courses and workshops of ISRO over the past year, as part of the organisation’s outreach programme.

Satellite altimetry is basically a technology that can yield a lot of information especially regarding rise of water levels in seas and rivers through measurements attained by the time taken by a radar pulse to travel from the satellite antenna to the surface and back to the satellite receiver. The technology has various other applications such as determination of rain rate and wind speed over large water bodies among others. Participants who wish to acquire knowledge on the subject may register for the one-day free course on IIRS.

How to Register for the ISRO Free Course on Satellite Altimetry for River Monitoring?

Those who wish to apply for the course need to follow these steps to be able to register for the ISRO free course on satellite altimetry for river monitoring:

• Applicants will have to provide their full name as given in their tenth mark sheet, email ID and password.
• An email will be sent to the registered IS, through which the account needs to be activated by clicking on the link given in the email.
• Once the account is activated and the email is verified, the submitted application will be available for the selection process to the institute, course coordinator or director who will accept or reject the applications.
• All the approved participants will receive an approval email with their login credentials of IIRS E-CLASS platform through which they may take the sessions using their login credentials.
