ISRO Chandrayaan 2 launch, which was called off an hour before the scheduled time of launch, has now been rescheduled. “Chandrayaan-2 launch, which was called off due to a technical snag on July 15, 2019, is now rescheduled at 2:43 pm IST on Monday, July 22, 2019,” says a tweet from ISRO.
While messages of encouragement have again begun to pour in for the ISRO Chandrayaan 2 mission, some viewers are curious to know about the status of the launch view gallery. “What about the launch view gallery? Public is allowed ?” tweets one such viewer. “What about the registrations for launch view gallery? Should we register again or the previously registered passes are sufficient?” asks another viewer.
Although there is no official word from ISRO on the matter yet, it seems unlikely that there would be fresh registrations to watch the ISRO Chandrayaan 2 launch live from Sriharikota, considering the fact that there is only 4 days left for the launch. The SDSC website maintains that registrations have already been closed, so far. Nevertheless, it is yet to be seen if those who had registered to watch the Chandrayaan 2 launch on 15 July 2019 will be allowed again.
Although the launch was called off, and viewers were already present in the launch view gallery on 15 July 2019, they still had encouraged ISRO and reiterated their commitment to view the launch by tweeting that they would come again to watch the launch. “I was there at the Launch View Gallery of Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota for Chandrayan2. Unfortunately due to some technical issue the launch was called off. Revised date will be announced latter, says ISRO. I will come again to support ISRO,” a viewer Rupesh Telwar had tweeted at that time.
The official word from the Indian Space Research Organisation is awaited on the same.
