Major causes in the IT industry that keep employees' health on edge have been largely identified as:

  • Work & lifestyle related issues-primarily owing to long distance calls to US and Europe, etc, being made at night, India time. Work extends 24x7 in most cases in shifts and long hours;

According to a survey conducted by ASSOCHAM on a sample of 200 companies, it has been found out that 98% of the employees are not aware of their health conditions and 30% of the lot is likely to fall to chronic diseases if not addressed on time. Such a situation can be attributed to the lifestyle, food, stressed work environment and other factors. In this context an organization needs to see how they can provide a solution to overcome the same."
