IRCTC Website Down again say consumers as the Government of India's train ticket booking app seems to have crashed during the festive season

IRCTC website down trends on social media platforms as the Government of India’s train ticket booking portal seems to be facing issues. IRCTC servers have apparently been down now for several hours while commuters have been trying to book tickets possibly to make it to their hometowns for Holi. “Hey IRCTC Officials, Whats happening? Your server is not at all working today. Waiting from past half an hour and continuosly browsing your website but it's not responding at all.. Kindly do the needful,” says Sheik Rasool Basha on Twitter.

Some commuters claim that their the website has cut money for their tickets from the account, but has crashed post that. “IRCTC Server always down during festivals season payment deducted without ticket, may be they are getting commission from travel agent,” says Sudhanshu Bharadwaj on the IRCTC website down issue.

Frustrated commuters have also been tagging Ashwini Vaishnaw in a bid to help sort out the issue. “Please look at IRCTC Website, most pathetic to book ticket and downtime of server starts exactly at 10am. While developing bullet trains, first correct the current system in place. Sir, Try booking with your IRCTC Ticket via mobile, you will taste the pain,” says one such customer.

A consumer says that the issue arises while trying to enter captcha wherein the ads are appearing normally on the website. “IRCTC not working during tatkal ticket booking hour, everything was appearing all the advertisement are coming, different advertising are popping up but capta code not appearing so we are unable to login. Why?” Asks the consumer.

I still don't understand why IRCTC a doesn't have proper IT team, everytime when the tatkal tickets is to be booked the server gets crashed. And today the IRCTC app is not at all loading.

“I’am trying to book tickets by online service of IRCTC but from last 1 hour it's showing continuous error in service so I can't book my tickets. Very poor service providers you are,” adds another consumer Jimmy Nath.

The website has received reports from nearly 1000 users so far that they have been facing issues with the IRCTC website, app and ticketing.
