Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu will be launching a new IRCTC app today. The app will enable faster ticket booking for the train passengers across the country. It will help people book tickets in a simplified manner. The main aim of launching this app is to make the ticketing app more user friendly and convenient. This app will be based on next generation e-ticketing systems.
IRCTC, which handles online train ticket bookings, will formally unveil the IRCTC Rail Connect App today to cater to the growing demand of passengers. The app is equipped with the latest technology to facilitate booking of train tickets in a faster and easier way. Several new features are added in the existing app for faster booking of tickets.
The new app will be synchronized with ticketing website as it is missing in the current app. Passengers will be able to search, book, check their existing reservations and even cancel them in the most convenient way. The app will also provide the upcoming journey alerts. The app will retain the passengers details for recently booked tickets, in order to avoid inconvenience to people as they need not enter their details again and again.
IRCTC Rail Connect App is the need of the hour as the country is going digital and cashless. Booking tickets online will help people in many ways as they don’t have to waste much time buying tickets and checking their existing reservation updates as they will get notifications on their app. This app will also support Make in India initiatives and Digital India.
