iOS 12 Software Update in India: Launch Time, Features and Precautions

There is never a dull moment for Apple device owners and fans. After the much awaited Apple iPhone XS, XS Max, XR and Apple Watch Series 4 were launched last week at a gala event in Steve Jobs Theatre in California, today the highly anticipated iOS 12 software update is about to start.  The software update is expected to begin at 10:30 PM IST, and is being eagerly awaited by consumers.

Anybody who owns the iPhone 5s, SE, 6, 6s and 6s Plus, 7 and 7 Plus, 8 and 8 Plus and X will receive the update. iPad mini 2 to 4, iPad Air and Air2, iPad 5th and 6th generation, iPad Pro, and iPod 6th generation are eligible for the update as well.

Precautions to take Before iOS 12 Software Update

Before consumers update to iOS 12, they must back up with iCloud first to save a copy of all their photos, messages, and any other data that might be important. To update to iOS 12, users must know their Apple ID and password, which they will need to type in after the update. In case users have forgotten their Apple ID, they can go to their Apple ID account page and click "Forgot Apple ID or password", confirm phone number, and use steps for two-factor authentication instead. Users must then choose to reset their password.

Features Expected on iOS 12

Apart from increased speed and security, several other features like improved face ID and AR technologies for developers to make use of are being expected. The all new ARKit  will allow users to measure the dimensions of real-world objects viewed through the iOS device's camera. An improved Apple Maps and Siri will also be brought about by the Apple iOS 12 software. The software update is also expected to increase battery performance of the Apple devices. Improved and interactive Animoji's are also being pegged to be present. Apple will also most likely focus on improved health apps through this software update.
