Purely Yours is dedicated to nurturing wellness through the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda. It is not only recognized as the science of self-healing, but also as a path to holistic well-being. Purely Yours seamlessly blends the age-old Ayurvedic knowledge with the support of modern science to create products that embody the best of both worlds.

Varun Jairath, CEO and Co-Founder, Purely Yours, tells us more. Excerpts from an interview:

DQ: What inspired the development of the AI-powered wellness advisor at Purely Yours? How do you see it bridging the gap between traditional Ayurveda and modern technology?

Varun Jairath: Ayurveda has always been an incredibly powerful system of healing that works by addressing the root cause of health issues rather than just providing symptomatic relief. But while the science itself is effective, accessibility has always been a major challenge.

Unlike modern medicine, where doctors are abundant and widely available, expert Ayurveda practitioners are limited—especially outside India. For example, Australia has only about 100–150 Ayurveda doctors, making it difficult for people to receive proper guidance.

We realized that for Ayurveda to truly go global, there were only two ways: either we train and deploy thousands of expert Ayurveda doctors worldwide, or we leverage technology to make authentic Ayurveda advice accessible to everyone at their fingertips. That’s where Ayush AI comes in.

By combining deep, traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with advanced AI, we have created a tool that makes highly personalized Ayurveda guidance available to anyone, anywhere in the world. It ensures that even those who don’t have access to an Ayurveda expert nearby can still get root-cause-based recommendations that are as accurate and effective as consulting a real doctor.

This is how we are bridging the gap between the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda and the convenience of modern technology—preserving tradition while making it more accessible and scalable than ever before.

DQ: How does the AI tool works? What kind of user inputs does it consider, and how does it personalize recommendations?

Varun Jairath: Ayush AI functions as a virtual Ayurveda expert, designed to understand an individual’s unique health profile and provide precise recommendations based on that. The process is simple and intuitive. When a user starts chatting with the AI, it begins by gathering detailed information, including:

* Current health concerns and symptoms
* Dietary habits, daily routine, and lifestyle factors
* Medical history, past treatments, and medications
* Body constitution and current imbalances.

Once this data is collected, the AI cross-references it with an exceptionally vast dataset that includes over 15,000 past Ayurveda doctor consultations, extensive Ayurvedic texts, and a growing pool of real-world case studies.

What makes Ayush AI unique is that it doesn’t just rely on static knowledge—it continues to learn from every new interaction, making its recommendations more precise and accurate over time.

Based on the user’s inputs, the AI provides personalized guidance that includes:
* Lifestyle modifications tailored to their daily habits
* Ayurveda-based diet plans designed to restore balance
* Herbal and supplement recommendations
* Investigations (if needed) to further assess underlying issues.

Unlike generic AI wellness tools, Ayush AI follows true Ayurveda principles, ensuring that each recommendation is aligned with traditional practices and not just generalized advice. Since Ayurveda is highly potent and can have side effects if practiced without proper knowledge, Ayush AI ensures that every suggestion is safe, effective, and deeply rooted in Ayurveda’s time-tested methodologies.

DQ: How does Purely Yours ensure the accuracy and reliability of AI-generated recommendations?

Varun Jairath: Accuracy is the most critical factor when it comes to health advice, and we have built Ayush AI with this in mind from day one. To ensure every recommendation is precise and reliable, we follow a three-step approach.

First, the AI has been trained on a massive dataset that includes over 15,000 real Ayurveda consultations, authentic Ayurveda texts, and expert case studies. This ensures that the AI isn’t just working with theoretical knowledge but also practical, real-world data that has been tested and validated.

Second, we have implemented a human-AI feedback loop, where our in-house Ayurveda experts review AI-generated responses and provide corrections and refinements where necessary. This means that every response isn’t just AI-generated—it’s continuously improved and validated by real Ayurveda doctors, ensuring that it aligns with traditional practices.

Third, we have designed Ayush AI to be ethically responsible. It does not randomly generate diagnoses or prescribe treatments beyond what is safe. If a case is complex, the AI recommends that the user speak with one of our live Ayurveda doctors, ensuring that no one relies solely on AI when human expertise is required. This balance of technology and expert validation makes Ayush AI one of the most accurate and trustworthy AI-powered wellness advisors in Ayurveda today.

DQ: What role do in-house Ayurveda experts play in this process?

Varun Jairath: Our Ayurveda experts are deeply involved in every stage of Ayush AI’s development and ongoing improvement. They play a vital role in:

* Structuring the AI’s foundational knowledge using real consultations and Ayurvedic texts
* Reviewing AI-generated recommendations and refining them for accuracy
* Handling cases that require direct human intervention to ensure safety and effectiveness.

By constantly training, validating, and enhancing the AI, our experts ensure that Ayush AI remains 100% aligned with authentic Ayurveda principles while continuing to evolve with new knowledge and patient cases.

DQ: With AI increasingly influencing healthcare and wellness, how do you see AI-powered solutions evolving in Ayurveda over the next five years?

Varun Jairath: AI is set to revolutionize Ayurveda in the coming years, making it more precise, accessible, and integrated with modern health technologies. In the next five years, we see several major developments:

* AI-powered Ayurveda clinics, where AI-assisted consultations help scale expert advice
* Integration with wearable devices, allowing real-time tracking of stress levels, digestion, and sleep to refine Ayurveda recommendations dynamically
* Predictive Ayurveda models, which can detect imbalances before they manifest into diseases, enabling preventive care
* Global standardization of Ayurveda protocols, making expert-backed Ayurveda advice consistent and trustworthy worldwide.

Ayush AI is already leading this transformation, and we are excited to continue shaping the future of AI-powered Ayurveda wellness.

DQ: What were some of the biggest challenges faced in developing this AI tool? How did the team overcome them?

Varun Jairath: One of the biggest challenges was translating the complexity of Ayurveda into a structured, AI-trainable system. Ayurveda is deeply personalized, requiring a nuanced understanding of body constitution, imbalances, and root causes. We overcame this by meticulously structuring over 15,000 consultations into clear, data-driven patterns that the AI could learn from.

Another challenge was ensuring that the AI remained accurate and safe. Ayurveda can have side effects if practiced incorrectly, so we built a strong doctor-feedback loop to validate every AI-generated response with expert Ayurveda Doctors to ensure accuracy.

Lastly, trust was a key challenge. Many people are sceptical about AI-powered Ayurveda, so we ensured that users always have the option to speak with a real Ayurveda doctor for further consultation. Overcoming these challenges has helped us create one of the most advanced AI-driven Ayurveda tools in the world today.

DQ: What’s next for Purely Yours? Do you have plans to expand the AI tool’s capabilities, or integrate it with other digital health platforms?

Varun Jairath: We have big plans for the future of Ayush AI. We are working on:

* Expanding to multiple languages, so users worldwide can access Ayurveda in their native tongue
* Integrating with health trackers and wearables, allowing real-time Ayurveda adjustments based on user health data
* Launching voice-enabled Ayurveda AI, making the experience more natural and accessible
* Predictive Ayurveda diagnostics, where AI can anticipate health imbalances before symptoms even arise

Our ultimate goal is to make Ayurveda not just more accessible, but deeply integrated into modern wellness practices, helping millions worldwide achieve better health naturally.
