“Digital transformation is driving unprecedented demand for data-driven applications, AI and ML within the enterprise ecosystem in India.”
— Navdeep Narula, Executive Director, Mobility, Compute and IoT at Ingram Micro India
Ingram Micro India has been known as a large national distributor with a portfolio that packs technology and mobility distribution, 3PL Services, logistics, supply chain, professional services, financial solutions and capabilities etc. What makes its recent progress interesting is that it has also made investments in specialty offerings and solutions in cloud, mobility, enterprise computing, technology distribution, data center, IoT & more.
Its services portfolio is noteworthy because it has been deepening with new capabilities. It includes third-party logistics, cybersecurity, core infrastructure, training, e-waste management, B2B2C E-store services and financial services.
What’s worth reckoning is the company’s move into new-age market with IoT with specification and integration of end-to-end IoT solutions. Here it has diversified into several buckets like logistics, retail, building, city, agriculture, industrial and XReality. Interestingly, XReality is its quickly-growing segment for industrial, manufacturing, and other business use cases.
Like a lot of device and computing majors, this company seems to be sharp and swift enough to leverage the other areas that complement or redefine traditional business segments. Its emphasis on new-age services, IoT, Cloud, HPC, drones, security, and RPA confirm that direction.
Would this ‘micro’ strategy work? Would the distribution formula of IT products play out well in the new digital era and format of products-and-services in a new continuum? Let’s keep our eyes peeled.
“As our collaboration with AWS evolves, Ingram Micro Cloud will continue focusing on bringing even greater value to our customers as we help them refine their AWS practice.”
