ING Vysya Bank: Bringing in Global Expertise

Even before YES Bank, the first private bank to bite the IT outsourcing bait

was the ING Vysya Bank when it awarded a five-year, $20 mn contract to iGATE

Global Solutions. The contours of the agreement, however, were not simple: iGate

incidentally acquired the business and assets of Bangalore-based IdeaSpace

Solutions for $1.7 mn, who were previously managing the IT services for ING

Vysya Bank.

iGATE is playing a key role in the entire IT value chain for ING Vysya-from

hardware identification to procurement, to defining and implementing the

technology strategy for the bank. It is also taking up responsibility for all

data center operations, systems and network management, and local or remote

support at ING Vysya locations. Besides transaction processing, the spectrum of

services include process consulting, IT strategy, managed operations and

back-office solutions.

IGATE's global financial expertise is helping ING Vysya Bank in automating

core banking operations, and implementing innovative multi-channel customer

touch points, including online alerts, electronic bill payment and presentment (EBPP).
