N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, the Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, and M. M. Pallam Raju, Union Human Resources Development (HRD) Minister inaugurated Infotech Enterprises' new
development center at Sarpavaram SEZ, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. The new development center is Infotech's seventh in India and second in Kakinada.
The five acre sprawling campus houses the development center building with a built up area of 52,000 square feet. The center will deliver cutting-edge solutions to customers primarily in the oil & gas, energy and utilities industry. It currently has 650 seats and employs 850 professionals. Infotech plans to ramp up this facility to 1500 seats and employ 2000 professionals by 2014.
Commenting on the occasion, Dr B V R Mohan Reddy, Founder and Chairman, Infotech Enterprises said, "It is an extension of the strategy to grow inclusively by expanding operations in Tier-II cities. The center will add a new perspective to Infotech's Indian operations and will help deliver
high-value services competitively. The center will also help boost the local economy by generating employment opportunities."
It is by far the largest technology center in a town of size of Kakinada. The center has been set-up with a clear objective of creating local employment. The center will constitute over 95% local and 30% women employees.
